I'd guess that this is enabled on some people's phones and disabled on others. NOTE: IIRC you may need to enable the "find my device" ability somewhere in your phone's settings for this to work. There are also options to remotely lock and remotely erase the device in case it has been stolen. It'll give you the approximate location on a map, tell you what wifi network it is connected to, give you the remaining battery life, and tell you when the phone was last connected to the internet (which tells you how "up-to-date" all this info is). The "find my device" page gives some info that is useful for finding a lost phone. It is much easier to find a ringing phone than it is to find a silent one. Your android smartphone will now (provided it has some battery life remaining and is connected to the internet) will ring for 5 minutes straight at full volume, even if the phone is set to SILENT. Sign in (to whatever google account you are signed in to on your phone)ĮDIT: if you have a "google home" device, it seems that you can alternately skip these steps and just say "hey google, find my phone" instead. (searching for google find my device works too.it should be the top hit from most search engines) Get to a computer (or borrow someone else's smartphone) Well, If you have an android phone and it still has some battery life you can: You frantically try calling it, but then it hits you: the phone is on silent! (You had suspected that your phone declaring "I like big butts and I cannot lie." when you get a call in the middle of church last Sunday would be.owned upon). You've misplaced your cell phone.you just had it, but set it down and it seemingly fell into a spontaneously-appearing black hole and instantly disappeared.
